Eat your way around Ha Long Bay

The Saigon-Halong Hotel, under Saigontourist, is an ideal place to stay on your tour of Ha Long Bay as it also manages a unique floating restaurant.

The four-star hotel with bay views in the center of Ha Long City is near the wharf, beaches, night market and Bai Chay Bridge. It has 222 well-equipped rooms, two internal restaurants and three more outside, including the Saigon-Halong Floating Restaurant, all serving Asian and European dishes and local specialties.

The Floating Restaurant launched at the end of last year with seats for 100. The ship has three levels. The first level serves buffet, the second serves a set menu and a la carte, while the third level is the drinks and bay-observation deck. You can savor the world natural heritage views during your lunch or dinner on board with sweet melodies and traditional live performances.

The floating restaurant is also available for conference bookings as a great way to mix business and sightseeing pleasure.

The day tours depart from Ha Long Wharf and take in Hon Dau Nguoi (Human Head Island), Hon Rong (Dragon Island), Hon Canh Buom (Sail Island), Hon Trong Mai (Hen and Rooster Island) and Hon Lu Huong (Incense Burner Island) and caves such as Thien Cung Cave (Paradise Cave) and Dau Go Cave (Wooden Head Cave).

You can exercise your imagination with the names of these islands. Hon Canh Buom looks like big sails full of wind, Hon Trong Mai looks like a pair of chickens playing together, Hon Lu Huong looks like a big incense burner for ritual offerings to Heaven and Hon Dau Nguoi looks like somebody heading to shore.

The caves are also full of fancy. The colorful stalactites and rocks are named after dancers, birds, people and many kinds of animals.

The dinner cruises are unforgettable. There’s romance, fun and relaxation for everyone, as the colors light the sky and the magical limestone karsts and islands.
